Greater Flamingos in Israel

In this short video, I invite you to join me for a quiet, intimate moment spent alongside one of the most elegant birds in nature – the Greater Flamingo. Most of the shots filmed from a floating hide in Israel, this isn’t about action or drama – it’s about atmosphere. It’s about what it feels like to be just meters away from these graceful birds, quietly observing as they move, feed, and exist in perfect harmony with the water and light. The Greater Flamingo is a large wading bird found across Africa, southern Europe, and parts of Asia. In Israel, they frequent salt ponds and fish reservoirs, filtering algae and tiny crustaceans with their uniquely curved bills. Some are winter visitors, but many now stay year-round. Filming gear: Nikon Z9, Nikon Z 600mm F4 TC, Nikon Z 800mm F6.3, Mr Jan Floating hide.
