The courtship dance of the Great Crested Grebe is one of the most beautiful in the world of birds. During the courtship period, when the pair of the grebes are in the water, facing each other, they shake their heads from side to side and then dive to the bottom of the lake to collect weeds, come out of the water and swim towards each other and then this beautiful thing happens.

A Purple heron in morning activity, including catching fish for breakfast. I spent quite a bit of time with these beautiful herons as I photographed them from my floating hide, as close and intimate as possible. The purple heron is a spectacularly beautiful waterfowl, known for his crimson-purple feathers and elegant length.

Little Terns during courtship and mating. I got to spend quite a few days together with this special bird and watch as close as possible their courtship and mating ceremony. The male takes care of bringing the female a small fish, if she agrees to mate with the male she will get the fish. After mating, the male makes sure to bring more and more fish to the female, to show his ability to take care of the chicks that will come to get food.

Some of the desert birds I photographed in an amazing place - Celia's drinking pool - Ezuz, Israel. Celia and her husband Dror set up a small pool of water near their home in Ezuz and built a hide for photographers nearby. The small pool of water attracts a wide variety of desert birds (and many others animals), and it is one of the best places to observe and photograph the different types of Sandgrouse.
